Guide

Sam's general role within 3v3 battles is to skirmish the enemy team, whether that being flanks or some other method of causing mayhem for them. Getting their attention, and getting a kill, or maybe two, can draw your opponents away from the objective out of force, as well as take down the enemy team if you can.Sam's main attack relies on weather or not he has his knuckle busters. When he does, he has an incredible amount of damage, yet a slow unload and reload speed. When his knuckle busters are off, he only has half the damage, but double the reload speed and insane unload speed, as well as a more narrow attack.Sam's super is throwing off his knuckle busters, giving you a speed boost, to be able to go to them and pick them back up. The knuckle busters do a stupid amount of damage, so they're good for if you are ever trying to finish someone off, weather close range or long range.Using the gadget, Sam pulls enemies into his knuckle busters, in a small radius. This can be used in multiple ways, such as both offence and defense in Brawl Ball, making enemies drop the ball, or simply to be used as a pull to get enemies closer right after you throw your knuckle busters, so you can get an easier kill.Putting all of these 3 (or 4 if you count the weaker attack) combined, Sam can do many different combos with his tools. His pull is mainly good to be able to approach and start killing them. The usual go-to combo is 1 or 2 main attacks with the knuckle busters, the throw the knuckle busters at them, in the direction they are moving. If they don't die, you can do either 2 things; use the fast reload speed to go and finish the kill if they are low, or, you can reload and pick back up the knuckle busters to be able to do more damage.
The latter is good in Heist, where you can unload 3 attacks, back up a little, and then launch you knuckle busters through the safe, then go and pick them back up. Backing up helps with staying relatively near the safe. If there is a wall, you can do this even faster. If you ever find yourself low on health, or simply in a pinch, you can throw your knuckle busters in the direction you want to go, and just run there and pick them back up, making a fast escape tool. If you need to heal up, go and find a wall, tuck behind it, and just start spamming your super until you get back to a bit above half health. Then is where the Starr Power's healing slows down a lot, and natural regeneration is more efficient. You also don't stop the natural regen if you pick up the knuckle busters.Overall Sam is a very combo heavy brawler, with his heavy damage close-up and good abilities to potentially team wipe letting him advance and skirmish away the enemies. Thank you for reading!

Game Modes

Brawl Ball

Brawl Ball

This is generally a rather close range game mode, so Sam will have an easier time on getting into battle and getting in damage. Sam is also good on both offense and defense, as said before.

Heist

Heist

This is rather map dependent. (He does better on more closed maps, with walls and such to progress, and not much open space) Sam has an easy way of getting back to the opponent's safe, letting him deal good damage, but he might have to throw the knuckle busters and pick them back up if you want to keep up high damage.

Hot Zone

Hot Zone

Because Sam's attacks pierce, he is very good on getting in and getting kills on the enemy, and with his high health, he can stay inside the zone for quite a while. On maps like Dueling Beetles, he can use the wall to spam his super onto to keep healing with his Star Power, if he ever gets low after a battle.

Works Well With

Poco

Poco

Sam is essentially a tank, with his high health, so Poco giving him a lot of heals can really help, as Poco can also do rather decently in the same modes.

Byron

Byron

Byron might be a better healer for Sam than Poco is, due to his long range and incredible amounts of healing he can do. Both Byron's tick damage and tick heal can greatly shift the outcome of a fight.
